Natural Remedies for Dark Circles Under the Eyes

Dark circles under the eyes can significantly affect one’s look in a very negative manner. Some people like dark circles to making one look like a zombie. This is because the dark circles tend to give the impression that one’s eyes are hollowed out to look like the undead.

For people who depend on their looks in order to earn a living, having dark circles under their eyes can be considered as professional suicide.

As such, it is highly recommended that people learn of ways to prevent dark circles from forming or treating any dark circles that may have already formed under the eyes.

It is a good thing that there are many natural remedies available that they can try in order to deal with the ugliness that are dark circles.

  • Get at least eight hours of quality sleep – what many people fail to realize is the fact that most of the time, dark circles are caused by lack of sleep. People who do not get enough sleep on a regular basis will eventually develop dark circles after a few days. People with a very fair complexion will the ones who will be hard hit as even a small or mild darkening of the skin will immediately be visible. For those who immediately notice the formation of dark circles in and around their eyes, it is highly recommended that they immediately try to get enough sleep as soon as possible. Sleep is the most effective and the safest cure for dark circles. It is also the most required cure. Regardless of how expensive the treatment one gets, their dark circles will not go away if they are unable to get enough quality sleep.
  • Cucumber slices – this is a treatment for dark circles under the eyes that has been used for many generations. Cucumber slices has restorative properties that help the affective skin area try to remove the darkening. It also makes the skin feel refreshed and young. One of the best ways to use cucumber slices is to first dip them in ice water before applying to the eyes. Freshly sliced cucumber should be dipped in ice water for about ten to fifteen minutes. Once the slices are cold enough, one should place a slice under the eyes for at least half an hour. After a half hour is over, fresh, cold slices should be placed anew. An hour or two of these will already help a lot.
  • Eat the right diet – sometimes dark circles form in order to inform the body that it needs nutrients. The lack of nutrients results to stress for the body and the stress results to dark circles. A full balanced diet is often a very big factor in making dark circles disappear.
